DVDs, Clinics, and Seminars

We are as much about education as we are about grouse and woodcock hunting.  Over the last eight years we have been providing hunters with the opportunity to participate in our outdoor clinics, “on the road” seminars, or to purchase our recently released DVD package.

For 2009, in lieu of "going on the road" we developed a self-training version of our unique workshop, “How to Locate and Strategically Hunt Grouse & Woodcock” consisting of three DVDs and a 94 page Workbook with over 4 1/2 hours of instruction.  For a composite description of some of what is covered in the DVDs set please click here          

Northwind Grouse and Woodcock Clinic

For those of you that are new to grouse and woodcock hunting, or just want a “refresher course” we offer an educational clinic to teach you about these unique birds, their habitat, and the subtle changes in habitat from the beginning to the end of the season and from year to year.  Most guides do not want to teach their clients to hunt on their own but we’re different.  We encourage our clients to learn about the unique aspects of finding and hunting grouse, then to go out and hunt on their own if they so choose.   Our Northwind Grouse and Woodcock clinics have been written up in both the Upland Almanac and the Shooting Sportsman magazines.  Our clinics are conducted by professional forester and grouse hunting guide, Ann Jandernoa, author of Northwind Grouse Habitat Maps.  Our clinics cover a very detailed list of subjects that any grouse hunter would find interesting and informative for hunting grouse and woodcock.

Northwind Grouse and Woodcock Seminars

Our Seminars, initially called workshops, are conducted “off season”, primarily on a weekday evening, in various locations throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast.  Beyond taking our Grouse and Woodcock Clinic “on the road” and educating our participants on Grouse and Woodcock, we have covered such topics as how to read and interpret aerial photography and satellite imagery (Google Earth) , how to make your own custom topo maps, and how to take care of your four legged hunting partner both before and during the hunting season.
